Trump Slams Reynolds for Endorsing DeSantis – Is Loyalty Dead?

In a fiery video released on Tuesday night, former and future President Donald Trump didn’t hold back as he criticized Republican Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds for endorsing Florida Governor Ron DeSantis for president. Even though Trump is currently leading in the Republican primary, with a whopping +29.7 lead in Iowa, he couldn’t resist taking a swipe at his distant second-place rival.

In true Trump fashion, the video was shared from the official Team Trump X account, making it crystal clear that it came straight from the Trump campaign. Trump didn’t mince words, stating that Reynolds had gone from being a popular governor to the “most unpopular governor in the entire United States.” And folks, that’s no easy feat, let me tell you!

But Trump didn’t stop there. He mocked DeSantis, who is a staggering 50 points behind him in the polls, questioning why Reynolds would endorse someone so far down in popularity. Perhaps she was promised a cushy position in return? Who knows! It’s classic politics, folks, and Trump has never been afraid to call it like he sees it.

Of course, Trump couldn’t resist highlighting his own accomplishments. He reminded everyone that he was the one who brought Iowa to the forefront as the first state in the nation, secured ethanol security, and even secured a whopping $28 billion for our hardworking farmers. And let’s not forget, he protected Social Security and Medicare while his primary rivals, like DeSantis and Nikki Haley, did absolutely nothing. Talk about making a difference!

As expected, the replies poured in, with many taking issue with both Trump’s message and his demeanor. But let’s not forget the context here, folks. According to the Des Moines Register, Reynolds won reelection by almost 20 points, making her one of the most popular governors in America. So Trump’s criticism may not hold much weight when it comes to Reynolds’ track record.

The Morning Consult poll also sheds some light on the situation. Reynolds may have a 47 percent disapproval rating, but she still enjoys a respectable 49 percent approval rating. Now, let’s talk about DeSantis for a moment. He’s actually regarded as the second most unpopular governor, with a 45 percent disapproval rating. Yet, he manages to maintain a 51 percent approval rating. Interesting, isn’t it?

It’s worth noting that DeSantis has garnered endorsements from influential figures in Iowa, including Bob Vander Plaats of The Family Leader. Trump hasn’t been shy about criticizing these endorsements, questioning if they came at a price. It seems like the campaign trail is heating up, and both Trump and Haley are taking any chance they can get to attack DeSantis.

With the Iowa Republican Caucus just two months away, tensions are running high. Let’s see how this endorsement drama plays out, folks. One thing’s for sure, though – Trump isn’t afraid to speak his mind and fight tooth and nail for his place at the top. Stay tuned for more from the wild world of politics!
