In the midst of the political circus, it seems that former President Donald Trump is making waves again as the potential future President. According to The New York Times/Siena College poll, Trump is leading President Joe Biden in a handful of swing states, including Nevada, Georgia, Arizona, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. If these numbers hold, there might be a big, beautiful win for Trump in 2024! CNN’s poll and the Bloomberg/Morning Consult poll are also singing a similar tune, showing Trump leading in several swing states, with Georgia and Michigan looking particularly strong for him.
The polls are also throwing some shade at Biden, suggesting that his forgiveness of billions in student debt might not be enough to win over Gen Z. It seems that even younger voters, who are typically more liberal, are starting to turn their backs on ol’ Joe. That’s gotta sting!

The surveys also highlight some possible challenges for both candidates in the long campaign ahead. Trump’s leading margin relies on support from voters who didn’t cast a ballot in 2020, while Biden will need to win back the support of disaffected former backers who aren’t feeling the excitement for his reelection bid. It’s like a political game of tug-of-war, and right now, Trump seems to be gaining some ground.
Overall, the numbers are painting a not-so-rosy picture for Biden, with low approval ratings in swing states and disappointment among young voters and black voters. Add in the fact that voters are losing faith in Biden’s ability to handle the economy, and it’s starting to look like a rough road ahead for the current president.
