A horrifying tragedy has struck the University of Georgia campus, but leave it to the mainstream media to completely miss the point. Laken Hope Riley, a 22-year-old nursing student, was brutally murdered near the Intramural Fields on the UGA campus. And who was arrested for this heinous crime? Jose Antonio Ibarra, a 26-year-old illegal alien from Venezuela who entered the country in 2022. But, thanks to Biden’s weak immigration policies, Ibarra was not deported after being arrested not once, but twice before this senseless murder.

The Associated Press, in its infinite wisdom, has managed to completely ignore the illegal status of the perpetrator, instead choosing to frame the story as a case of “toxic masculinity.” The headline reads, “The killing of a nursing student out for a run highlights the fears of solo female athletes.” Really, AP? The real issue here is not about “toxic masculinity,” it’s about the immigration crisis creating avoidable tragedies that could have been prevented if we upheld law and order and deported those who should not be in our country.
One female runner, Carol Capps, who regularly runs in the area where the body was found, expressed her shock and fear following this horrific event. It’s a stark reminder that women, including athletes, must constantly be on high alert for their safety. Indeed, statistics show that the majority of women consistently fear for their safety and face harassment while out exercising. Instead of focusing on teaching men not to assault women, the mainstream media would rather put the onus on women to protect themselves.
If only Ibarra had been deported after his previous arrests, perhaps this tragedy could have been prevented. He was caught in New York City in 2023 and also arrested for shoplifting in Athens, Georgia, later that year. Shockingly, Ibarra failed to appear in court on these charges, yet he was allowed to roam free, ultimately leading to this devastating outcome. But apparently, according to the leftist media, this is all about “toxic masculinity,” not failed immigration policies and soft-on-crime liberal ideology.
Conservative commentator Mary Katherine Ham, a UGA alum, fiercely criticized The Associated Press for its absurd narrative, highlighting the media’s blatant disregard for the real issues at hand. It’s time for the media to stop burying the truth and start reporting the facts with integrity and honesty. It’s clear that the liberal bias in the media has once again overshadowed the real story, failing to hold the Biden administration accountable for its failed immigration policies that put innocent lives at risk.
