Vice President Kamala Harris took her “Fight for Reproductive Freedoms” tour to Minnesota, making history as the first vice president to visit an abortion clinic. And let’s just say, it wasn’t a visit to pick up some aspirin and a Band-Aid.

Harris, on her quest to promote a progressive pro-choice agenda, paid a visit to the St. Paul Health Center, Vandalia, a Planned Parenthood clinic nestled in the Twin Cities. She’s been on this reproductive rights crusade since the beginning of the year, and she’s been racking up frequent flyer miles faster than a cheetah on a jet plane. She’s been all over the place, from Wisconsin to California, Georgia to Michigan, Arizona, and now, the land of 10,000 lakes.
The VP knows no bounds when it comes to sticking up for what she believes in, especially when it involves those little, teeny, tiny babies in the womb. Harris has become the President Joe Biden’s go-to gal for rallying the troops, especially when it comes to reaching out to voters of color. She’s been hitting the campaign trail like there’s no tomorrow, making pit stops in a whopping 24 states in just a few months.
Harris wasn’t alone on her trip to the land of lutefisk and lakes – she was joined by Gov. Tim Walz and Rep. Betty McCollum, both Dems, of course. While some states have been tightening up their abortion restrictions in the wake of the Supreme Court’s big decision, Minnesota’s governor went and signed a bill into law last year, declaring abortion access a “fundamental right” in the state. So, this visit to the abortion clinic was like a victory lap for the VP and her entourage.
This visit was just another piece in the Biden-Harris campaign’s big “Month of Action” puzzle, following the president’s big State of the Union address last week. Harris was geared up to drop some knowledge and promote her pro-choice platform, so stay tuned for her big remarks coming out of this visit.
