In the changing times of the Western world, there is a growing trend of hypocrisy and cowardice among the people, especially in the Anglican and Protestant communities. In the past, there was a condescending view towards Catholicism, with people mocking the practices of buying indulgences. However, today, many are quick to line up to purchase carbon dioxide quotas, showcasing a similar level of hypocrisy in prioritizing appearances over true beliefs.
There are three main types of behaviors observed in society: the self-absorbed youth who seeks excitement without deeper beliefs, the darkened soul that harbors violent fantasies, and the reticent individual longing for community but held back by anxiety. Morality in today’s society seems to revolve around being seen as aligning with the oppressed, often through socialist principles. This shift has led to a significant reliance on group identity and social media validation for one’s moral stance.
Quillette and @jonkay published my essay on left wing cowardice and hypocrisy back in 2018, as well as my piece about being banned from Twitter for saying that "men aren't women." The conversation has changed since then but early push back paved the way https://t.co/KknlODhT6n

Those who condemn the Western way of life are not just hypocrites but may also harbor deep-seated hatred towards civilization and legality, driven by a desire for revenge and domination. The rise of activists fighting for various causes has transformed individuals, turning timid individuals into fearless advocates for their chosen political causes. The pursuit of social justice or environmental causes has become a holy commandment for many, filling a void left by a lack of strong personal beliefs.
In the digital age, aligning with popular trends and appearing sympathetic towards the oppressed has become crucial for social acceptance. This trend has led to a culture of self-righteousness and superficial morality, where individuals prioritize their image over personal courage and commitment to truth. The affluent youth in the West often portray themselves as saviors of the world while enjoying luxuries denied to others, further exemplifying the disconnect between their actions and beliefs.
Overall, the prevalence of hypocrisy and cowardice in society reflects a broader trend of seeking validation through social media and group identity, rather than through genuine personal values. This shift towards performative activism and self-centeredness has weakened the moral fabric of society, emphasizing appearances over true conviction.
