Joe Scarborough, the host of "Morning Joe," said on Tuesday that Republicans aren't wrong when it comes to asking about the contents of the documents found in the garage of Joe Biden.
Some of the classified documents that were found in Biden's home were from his time as the vice president. Around five additional pages were found on Saturday. The documents were discovered on November 2, but the public was only informed about the discovery in January.
While Biden's documents are a political issue for Trump, the documents that the FBI recovered from the former president's Mar-a-Lago residence in 2022 are a serious legal matter.
""But first, let's talk about the documents," Scarborough said, before going on to mock the Republicans for their investigations. He continued by saying that there's nothing stupid about asking the FBI to look into the contents of Biden's documents when they were found in an unsecured garage.""
""If you're a Republican or Democrat, and you're on the Intel Committee, and you're interested in finding out what documents were found in Biden's garage, then you should ask the FBI to investigate. Even if it wasn't the intention of Biden to keep these documents, I want to know what was found there.""
According to a report by Bloomberg, Republicans on the House Intel Committee have asked the Justice Department to provide them with an immediate report regarding the documents.
James Comer, the chairman of the House Oversight Committee, said that his committee would also look into Biden's actions regarding the documents.
