Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon isn’t pulling any punches when it comes to the Biden administration’s latest methane regulations. The governor is fired up over what he sees as a direct attack on his state’s oil and gas industry. And let’s face it, when you mess with Wyoming’s oil and gas, you’re messing with the heart and soul of the Cowboy State.

The Biden administration dropped these new methane rules during some fancy UN climate summit, making it sound like they’re saving the world while throwing hardworking folks under the bus. Gordon is not happy about it, not one bit. He’s calling out the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for not giving his state the time of day when they cooked up these regulations. I mean, how rude is that? You’d think they’d at least give Wyoming a heads-up before dropping a bombshell like this.
But the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) is all popping champagne corks over these stricter rules, saying they’ll save the planet from “climate-damaging methane.” They’re all like, “Oh wow, the U.S. is so amazing now with these new limits on methane pollution!” Give me a break. These folks are all about clean air and climate, but they’re not the ones who have to deal with the real-world consequences of these overbearing regulations.
Meanwhile, Governor Gordon is sounding the alarm that these rules are going to cost a pretty penny for oil and gas producers in Wyoming. And guess what? Those costs are just going to get passed on to you and me, the consumers. So, thanks a lot, EPA and Biden administration. You’re making it more expensive for us to drive our cars and heat our homes. Real classy move, guys.
The Western Energy Alliance, which knows a thing or two about the energy industry, is also fuming about these regulations. They’re pointing out that the U.S. is already killing it in reducing greenhouse gas emissions, partly thanks to using more natural gas for power. But, of course, the Biden administration wants to rain on their parade. They’re basically saying, “Hey, we’re doing a great job over here,” and the administration’s response is, “Well, we still want to mess with you anyway.”
So, there you have it. Governor Gordon and the Western Energy Alliance are waving the red flag, shouting, “This is going to hurt us big time, folks!” But it seems like the powers that be are too busy patting themselves on the back to listen. Well, buckle up, Wyoming. It looks like it’s going to be a bumpy ride with these regulations in place.
