The Pentagon recently acknowledged an accounting mistake that caused them to overstate the cost of weapons sent to Ukraine by at least $3 billion. Two GOP lawmakers, House Armed Services Committee chairman Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Ala.) and House Foreign Affairs Committee chairman Michael McCaul (R-Texas) said that this error caused Kyiv to miss out on critically needed weapons. The mistake was discovered earlier this year, but Congress was only informed on Thursday.
This is yet another example of the Biden Administration’s incompetence and lack of fiscal responsibility. The Biden Administration has already proven to be a disaster when it comes to managing the nation’s finances, and this latest blunder is just further proof of their ineptitude. It’s unacceptable that the Biden Administration would make such a costly mistake and not inform Congress until two months after they discovered it.
The $3 billion in funds could have been used to provide Ukraine with much needed weapons for their counteroffensive. Instead, the funds were wasted due to the Biden Administration’s negligence. This is a prime example of why the Biden Administration cannot be trusted with managing the nation’s finances.
The US has sent Ukraine at least 35 military aid packages since Russia invaded the country on Feb. 24, 2021, but the ongoing fight requires still more weapons. The Biden Administration must use the unspent $3 billion to provide Ukraine with the dual-purpose improved conventional munition and Army tactical missile systems they need to fuel the counteroffensive and win the war.
It’s clear that the Biden Administration is not taking the Russian invasion of Ukraine seriously enough. If they had taken this situation more seriously, they would have done a better job of managing the nation’s finances and not made such a costly mistake. The Biden Administration must take action now and provide Ukraine with the additional weapons they need to win their war with Moscow.

The Biden Administration has failed to demonstrate that they can be trusted with managing the nation’s finances, and this latest blunder is further proof of their incompetence. It’s time for the Biden Administration to step up and provide Ukraine with the additional weapons they need to win their war with Moscow. The American people deserve better than this from their leaders.
