Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) has once again been caught fundraising off of the indictment of former President Donald Trump. The House Intelligence Committee’s former chairman heavily targeted Trump and now he seems to be cashing in on his efforts. MSNBC host Andrea Mitchell pointed out this hypocrisy on Friday, calling into question the politicization of this criminal allegation.

But Schiff defended his actions, claiming that this is a clear case of ensuring the rule of law is upheld. He stated that it is essential that no one, not even a former president, is above the law. However, we must ask, is this truly Schiff’s motive or is he just trying to use this situation to his advantage? It seems awfully convenient that he is now running for Senate to replace Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA).

Meanwhile, Trump is set to turn himself in in Manhattan on Tuesday as part of the agreement his attorneys reached with District Attorneys Alvin Bragg’s office. The former president has claimed that Bragg’s pursuit of this case, despite other offices passing on it, is nothing but political interference to impact the 2024 presidential election. And with Schiff’s fundraising tactics, it seems he too is playing politics at the expense of justice.
It’s no secret that Schiff has been pushing to discredit the Republican representatives Kevin McCarthy and Jim Jordan in the House by interfering and possibly slowing down the investigation against Trump. This is just another example of Schiff putting politics ahead of justice when it suits his purposes. It’s time for Schiff to stop grandstanding and do his job as a representative of the people, rather than as a partisan politician.
