In the latest episode of political theatrics, Adam Schiff, who has recently ascended to the Senate thanks to California’s questionable judgment, took to social media with a meltdowner worthy of social media’s worst. His target? The Biden administration and the courts, whom he accuses of letting down the supposedly sacred “rule of law.” This is coming right after the announcement that DOJ Special Counsel Jack Smith is apparently dropping all charges against Donald Trump, leaving Schiff with a sour grape expression more fitting for a toddler denied dessert.
Smith’s decision to drop the charges stems from two Office of Legal Counsel opinions asserting that sitting presidents cannot be prosecuted. However, he cleverly left an escape hatch open for future legal action post-presidency, which isn’t fooling anyone. Schiff’s outburst about this situation reveals more about his political vanity than any objective legal standard. If anyone thinks Schiff was about upholding justice, they need to take a harder look at his motivations—especially considering his history of prioritizing self-promotion over genuine accountability.
One has to question exactly what Schiff and his fellow partisans were trying to protect when the January 6th committee withheld critical testimony and information from the DOJ. Their protectionism raises eyebrows when one considers that it was the DOJ, not a mere House committee, with the real authority to take action against a former president. The conclusion is unavoidable: their true fixation was on their own egos and their thirst for the limelight rather than maintaining a fair political process—their “work” seems far more about advancing narratives than delivering justice.
History shows that they orchestrated a theatrical production rather than a legitimate investigation. This group, which includes the likes of Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger, wanted their primetime moment following the chaotic events of January 6. They even went so far as to waste taxpayer dollars on Hollywood producers to craft their sensational narrative while simultaneously destroying evidence, lying to the public, and misleading everyone about what they knew. The DOJ, on the other hand, waited patiently while this political circus played out.
Adam Schiff Copes and Seethes After Jack Smith Drops Trump Charges, but There's More to His Crying https://t.co/rSAsEak9K5
Schiffty had to be a big star and screwed up any chance Jack Smith had of completing a Trump prosecution. He didn’t mean to do it but that’s justice. Sorry…— Steve Adler🇺🇸 (@RockstarNoMore) November 26, 2024
Had the January 6th committee chosen to support a legitimate inquiry rather than milking the situation for attention, it’s plausible that Smith could have built a solid case against Trump before the 2022 election season hit full swing. Instead, their desperate quest for publicity derailed their own efforts, firing back at them and leaving Schiff looking particularly foolish. The real rule of law is that the system plays out in its own time—even if Schiff and his cohorts wished otherwise, it doesn’t bend to partisan whims.
As far as Schiff should be concerned, he needs to take a generous step back. In fact, any notion that Trump should have faced rapid legal consequences merely reflects the kind of political maneuvering that many outside the echo chamber of liberal politics can see through. If Schiff has any time left over from his failed efforts to manufacture a Russian collusion narrative, perhaps he should consider using it to rethink the political games he’s been playing all along.
