Democratic socialists Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez sparked outrage this week after boarding a $15,000-per-hour private jet for their “Fight Oligarchy” tour. The champagne socialists blasted billionaires like Elon Musk at rallies while riding in luxury most Americans will never experience.
The pair chartered a Bombardier Challenger private jet with leather seats and a cabin wider than commercial planes. This elite aircraft costs more per hour than many working families earn in two months. Their extravagant travel bill hit $221,723 for private flights this quarter alone.
Republicans ripped the hypocrisy as the politicians demanded everyday Americans sacrifice comforts like trucks and air conditioning. “They preach climate panic while spewing enough jet fumes to power a small town,” said GOP spokesperson Ben Petersen. The jet made multiple stops between their anti-billionaire rallies in swing states.
Sanders and AOC spent days ranting about “greedy oligarchs” before boarding their lavish flight. Their “Fight Oligarchy” tour claims to stand for workers but reeks of elitist liberal irony. The same week they attacked Trump’s billionaire donors, they burned cash on perks only the rich can afford.
Flight records show the jet hopped between rallies in California, Utah, and Idaho. Each takeoff dumped enough carbon to erase a hundred families’ yearly recycling efforts. While lecturing about wealth inequality, they chose the most wasteful transportation possible.
The Bombardier Challenger boasts “superior cabin comfort” and amenities far beyond coach class. Meanwhile, their Green New Deal would ban affordable gas cars and force Americans into expensive electric vehicles. Rules for thee, but not for Bernie.
Working-class voters see through this hypocrisy. Real patriots don’t need private jets to connect with everyday struggles. These out-of-touch liberals claim to hate billionaires while living like royalty on donors’ dimes.
The backlash proves Americans are sick of elitist politicians pretending to care about the little guy. If fighting oligarchs requires $15,000/hour jets, maybe they’re the oligarchs.
