Biden Adjusts Marine One Walk Amid Age Concerns, Aides Join

President Biden’s age has become a major concern for many Americans, with a whopping 86 percent believing he is too old to serve another term. Even Hillary Clinton has acknowledged that this is a legitimate issue. As a result, the White House has been making efforts to improve the optics of President Biden’s movements, particularly when he walks to and from Marine One.

Reportedly, after years of walking alone, Biden has recently requested a “less formal approach” and has been accompanied by aides during these walks. This change has made his “halting and stiff gait” less apparent, according to a report by Axios. Senior aides and close advisers have been seen walking alongside the president, and it is expected that this practice will continue.

In March, the president walked to and from Marine One mostly alone or with family members, but starting in April, he was accompanied by staff or lawmakers nine out of 10 times. This shift in approach is part of an ongoing effort by Biden’s team to alter public perception of his age.

This new practice comes after previous efforts to support the president’s mobility, such as switching to more supportive shoes and using a lower level for boarding Air Force One. The concerns about the president’s physical abilities have sparked public attention and criticism from Republican National Committee (RNC) Research and the GOP, who have highlighted Biden’s challenges as evidence of his incapacity for the role.
