In a groundbreaking decision, a federal judge in Louisiana has put a stop to the Biden administration’s attempts to suppress and censor content on social media. The judge issued a preliminary injunction in response to a lawsuit filed by the states of Missouri and Louisiana, as well as prominent critics of the Covid-19 lockdowns, Martin Kulldorff and Jay Bhattacharya, and the owner of the Gateway Pundit, Jim Hoft.
It is entirely appropriate that the judge in Missouri v. Biden issued an injunction against the Biden Administration's "Ministry of Truth" on July 4th.
The capacity of the American experiment to renew itself will never stop astonishing me.

Judge Terry A. Doughty, in his ruling, stated that if the allegations made by the plaintiffs are true, this case could involve the most massive attack on free speech in American history. He also expressed confidence that the plaintiffs are likely to succeed in showing that the government has been using its power to silence opposing voices. This is a victory for free speech and a blow to the Biden administration’s attempts to control the narrative.
The injunction applies to a wide range of federal agencies and officials, including President Joe Biden himself, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, the Food and Drug Administration, the Centers for Disease Control, the Treasury Department, the State Department, the US Election Assistance Commission, the FBI, the Justice Department, and the Department of Health and Human Services. This means that they are now barred from contacting social media companies for the purpose of suppressing or censoring content.
The case brought forward by Bhattacharya and Kulldorff is especially significant, as they have been victims of social media censorship themselves. Their statements questioning the effectiveness of vaccines and masks and the importance of natural immunity have been unfairly labeled as “disinformation” and silenced. This ruling acknowledges that there has been a coordinated effort by the government and Big Tech to suppress speech that counters official narratives.
Judge Doughty’s 155-page ruling paints a dystopian picture of the government’s involvement in suppressing free speech. He quotes communications from Biden administration officials to social media employees, showing a clear intention to coerce them into suppressing certain content. The fact that social media companies complied with these requests under pressure from the most powerful office in the world is deeply concerning.
This decision is a victory for the First Amendment and the principle that the government should not prohibit the expression of ideas simply because they are deemed offensive or disagreeable. It is a rebuke to the Biden administration’s attempts to control the flow of information and silence dissenting voices. The American experiment in democracy continues to amaze with its ability to defend the fundamental rights of its citizens. Happy Independence Day indeed!
