The recent attacks by Hamas on Israel have sparked concerns about the United States’ role in funding the terrorist organization. The Biden administration, even from the start, made the questionable decision to send funds to Gaza, despite the high risk that Hamas could benefit from this assistance. It is no surprise that Democrats, encouraged by their fellow party members, have been advocating for aid to be sent to Gaza. They seem to have a genuine fascination with supporting organizations that promote violence and terrorist activities.

In a letter sent by 145 Democrats, led by Rep. Jamie Raskin, they demanded aid for Gaza. It is perplexing to see these elected officials actively promoting financial assistance to a region known for its association with Hamas. This is just one example of the Biden administration’s commitment to reversing the decisions made under the Trump administration. It seems that they are more interested in appeasing terrorist organizations than in pursuing peace and security.
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) is another problematic body that the Biden administration continues to support. Despite reports of incitement of violence against Jews and the use of UNRWA facilities by armed militants, the Biden administration has resumed funding for this agency. It is outrageous that taxpayer money is being used to support an organization that promotes anti-Semitism and the destruction of Israel.
Republicans have long argued against funding the UNRWA due to concerns about the exploitation of these funds by Palestinian terrorists. Rep. Chip Roy has even introduced legislation to defund the agency, recognizing the rampant anti-Israel and anti-Semitic propaganda it perpetuates. It is alarming to see that the Biden administration is the largest source of funding for the UNRWA in 2022, with reports revealing that it has received $1 billion in taxpayer funds. This money could very well be used to support Hamas in recruiting and storing weapons. It is disheartening to witness our government actively aiding and abetting those who seek the destruction of our ally, Israel.
Even The New Republic, a typically leftist outlet, has described the UNRWA as “effectively a branch of Hamas.” In 2014, the agency itself acknowledged that Hamas missiles were found at UNRWA schools. The evidence is clear, yet Democrats, including Squad members like Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar, continue to support this organization and call for increased funding.
The association between moderate Democrats and the Squad members who support Hamas and promote anti-Israel rhetoric is concerning, particularly for those like Rep. Colin Allred, who is running to challenge Sen. Ted Cruz. Allred has expressed support for funding Gaza and has remained silent on Hamas’ aggression against Israel. It is disingenuous to condemn terrorists while advocating for financial assistance to the very region that supports them.
The Biden administration’s announcement of aid being sent to Gaza only further highlights their misguided priorities. Despite the UN’s problematic stance during this conflict and the acknowledgment that Hamas has stolen humanitarian aid, President Biden continues to show support for Gaza. It is bewildering to see a President who claims to prioritize national security and the well-being of Americans actively supporting organizations and regions that pose a threat to our ally, Israel.
It is time for the Biden administration and Democrats to reassess their priorities. Supporting terrorism and promoting violence against Israel should never be acceptable. It is our duty as conservatives to hold our elected officials accountable and demand that they prioritize the safety and security of our nation and our allies.
