Last month, Fox News informed the public that the Biden administration used taxpayer dollars to provide funding for a university program that categorized conservatives and Christians under the same boat as Nazis. The documents obtained through the Freedom of Information Act showcase that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) utilized its Targeted Violence and Terrorism Prevention Grant Program (TVTP) to finance the PREVENTS-OH program at the University of Dayton. In their application for the grant, the university featured a chart entitled the “Pyramid of Far-Right Radicalization,” in which they placed the Republican Party and several Christian organizations with Neo-Nazi terror groups.
Moreover, earlier this year, the University of Dayton conducted a seminar called “Extremism, Rhetoric, and Democratic Precarity,” which compared law-abiding conservatives to genocide proponent individuals. Arizona Representative Andy Biggs wrote a letter to the Homeland Security Secretary, Alejandro Mayorkas, demanding answers about why conservative citizens are perpetually targeted by the DHS for exercising their right to free speech. He pointed out that under the Constitution, the federal government is prohibited from in any way suppressing Americans’ free speech, which is exactly what the Biden administration is doing.

According to Biggs, the Biden administration has created an unlawful federal speech regulating policy and is utilizing taxpayer money to fund programs that demonize and equate mainstream conservatism with domestic terrorism. The letter, which was signed by 15 Republican lawmakers, including Matt Gaetz and Anna Paulina Luna from Florida, dwelt on the fact that the Home Security Department should be channelling funds towards preventing terrorism rather than using it to persecute innocent conservatives. Finally, Biggs vowed to hold Mayorkas and his department accountable if they continued to use a multi-million-dollar counter-terrorism program to prey on harmless conservatives.
