President Joe Biden’s efforts to win over black voters may have backfired after a campaign video showed him making racially insensitive comments during a visit with a black family in North Carolina. In the video, Biden is seen ordering food from a fast-food chain while visiting with the family, and he makes a point of mentioning that he opted for a burger while bringing the family “chicken fingers.” The clip also highlights Biden’s surprise and disbelief when the older son mentions his enrollment in a business academy, which many viewers saw as a clear display of bias.
Social media users wasted no time in criticizing the video, with one user sarcastically questioning whether it was a good idea for Biden to buy chicken tenders for black kids while he had a burger. Another commenter described the video as “ethnic pandering,” while others pointed out the significant drop in black support for Biden since his election victory in 2020. According to a USA Today/Suffolk University poll, Biden’s support among black voters has fallen from 92 percent to just 63 percent.

Some have blamed this decline on “disinformation,” but many believe it is a direct result of the president’s own behavior and campaign decisions.
