Biden Targets ‘Assault Weapons’, Misfires After UNLV Handgun Attack

President Joe Biden wasted no time in pushing his anti-gun agenda after the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) handgun attack. Never mind that the shooter was a 67-year-old professor using a handgun, and not one of those scary “assault weapons” that Biden is so determined to ban. Facts, shmacts, right?

In his statement, Biden called on Congress to ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, pass a red flag law, implement universal background checks, and even require the safe storage of guns. Because apparently, none of these measures would have made a bit of difference in preventing the UNLV shooting, but let’s not let that get in the way of exploiting tragedy for political gain.

It’s almost laughable how Biden conveniently disregards the actual details of the UNLV attack and jumps to his preferred conclusion. Maybe he should focus on addressing the real issues at hand, like mental health and the breakdown of our education system.

But hey, who needs facts or logical solutions when you can just throw out buzzwords like “assault weapons” and “gun violence epidemic”? It’s all part of the Democrat playbook, a way to distract from their own failures and pass off blame onto law-abiding gun owners.

Here’s a suggestion for Biden: how about actually doing something meaningful to address the root causes of violence, instead of demonizing law-abiding citizens and their constitutionally protected rights? But I guess that would require real leadership and critical thinking, qualities sorely lacking in this administration.
