In a recent Wall Street Journal poll, it has been revealed that President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump are neck and neck in the race for the presidency. The poll, conducted between August 24 and August 30, shows that the American people are still divided between the two candidates as they look ahead to next year’s election. It seems like the battle between Biden and Trump is far from over, and the American people are eagerly waiting to see who will come out on top.
But wait, there’s more! During an interview on CBS News’ “Face the Nation,” a potential candidate threw their hat into the ring. Larry Hogan, the former Republican governor of Maryland and honorary co-chairman of the political organization No Labels, revealed that he hasn’t completely ruled out running for president. Now, this is where things get interesting!
Host Bob Costa posed the question to Hogan, “If Trump is going to end up being the nominee, are you, Larry Hogan, open to being atop a No Labels ticket as a Republican-type candidate?” To which Hogan responded, “It’s not something I’m pursuing. I’m hoping we don’t get to that point, but I have not closed the door to that.” Oh, Larry, always leaving us hanging!
Hogan believes that if No Labels can put together a strong ticket and run a perfect campaign, they could actually have a shot at winning the presidency. He even compared it to his own victory in Maryland, saying they could pull off something that’s never been done before. Well, well, Larry, that’s quite the ambitious statement!

But let’s address the elephant in the room. Hogan’s organization, No Labels, has not disclosed its list of donors, which is raising some eyebrows. Host Bob Costa questioned Hogan about the need for transparency, and whether No Labels would have to be more forthcoming about their financial backers in order to gain the public’s trust. Hogan assured Costa that if No Labels were to launch a campaign, they would have to follow the same rules as other campaigns.
Now, as a conservative writer, it’s important to note that while Larry Hogan’s entrance into the race may seem intriguing, it’s highly unlikely that he would pose a significant threat to either Biden or Trump. The American people have already made their choice between these two candidates, and adding another name to the mix might just do more harm than good. We need to focus on strong conservative leadership, rather than diluting the field with unnecessary contenders.
