The Biden administration and multiple foreign governments have decided to pause funding to UNRWA, the United Nations’ mission in Gaza, after evidence surfaced that some of its employees had a direct role in collaborating with Hamas in an attack on Israeli civilians. The Democrats want to make it sound like a big deal, but the reality is that the funds that were already allocated will still flow to the organization. Typical! And did you hear about the New York Times article? It laid out some serious allegations against UNRWA/Hamas terrorists, including kidnapping and providing ammunition for attacks.
Israel presented a dossier to the United States that detailed the names and jobs of the UNRWA employees involved in the Hamas attacks. Israeli intelligence officers tracked the movements of these employees and even intercepted phone calls discussing their involvement in the attacks. It’s alarming to learn that some of these employees were teachers at UNRWA schools, teaching subjects like math and Arabic. It’s outrageous to think that terrorists were in charge of shaping young minds.

The situation gets even more outrageous when a Wall Street Journal report revealed that around 10% of all UNRWA’s staff in Gaza have ties to Islamist militant groups. Yes, you heard that right—10%! Additionally, nearly half of UNRWA employees have family members involved with these Islamist militant groups. The report even stated that UNRWA is a haven for radical Hamas ideology. It’s like UNRWA is running its own terrorist training camp!
It’s not just a few bad apples involved; it’s a deep-rooted problem within UNRWA. Even UNRWA teachers and workers openly cheered on the Hamas horrors, celebrating the bloodshed in a Telegram chat group. This is a toxic environment, and it’s unacceptable that this is taking place within a United Nations mission. How can anyone turn a blind eye to this?
And don’t even get started on the exploitation of the United Nations mission in Gaza. In a video from 2004, armed Hamas terrorists are seen evacuating in a UNRWA ambulance after killing six IDF soldiers. UNRWA’s response? They claimed their ambulances don’t distinguish between injured combatants and civilians. This is absurd!
The ‘ceasefire’ crowd continues to advocate for ongoing foreign aid to UNRWA, despite documented terrorist infiltration. They are more concerned with pointing fingers at Israel and the West rather than holding UNRWA and Hamas accountable for their actions. But, unsurprisingly, it’s not just their attack on Israel; their own party member, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, has received pushback for not toeing the line and calling Israel guilty of “genocide.” It’s shocking how far some people are willing to go to demonize Israel.
It’s important to question why leftists in America demand that UNRWA be generously funded by US taxpayers, even after all the revelations about its ties to terrorist groups. Yet, they reject ‘few bad apples’ arguments when it comes to defunding the police in the US. It’s time to hold UNRWA accountable for its actions and stop funding this corrupt organization. The double standards are outrageous!
