Biden’s Visa Fiasco Unleashes Haiti Gang Wars, Exodus of 63k

The Biden administration strikes again, leaving a trail of chaos and violence in its wake. Using a visa program as an escape route, government leaders and law enforcement officials are deserting Haiti, abandoning the nation to the clutches of violent gang wars. It is truly a tale of betrayal and incompetence.

Under the direction of Alejandro Mayorkas, the Department of Homeland Security Secretary (who happens to be Cuban-born), this visa program was launched in January. Each month, a staggering 8,000 Haitians have been granted these visas, courtesy of Mayorkas himself. It seems that promoting mass migration is his top priority, rather than ensuring the safety and stability of the Haitian people.

This visa program has not only depleted the ranks of the police force but has also allowed thousands of professionals and political leaders to flee Haiti. With a program that incentivizes migration by offering a pathway to the United States through a financial sponsor, it’s no wonder that police officers are abandoning their posts and seeking refuge elsewhere. The Biden administration claims they don’t know how many police officers have left, but with a total of 63,000 vetted and approved Haitians entering the U.S., it’s safe to say that the situation is dire.

This is just the tip of the iceberg. The number of encounters between U.S. authorities and Haitians at the southwest border is alarming, with almost 146,000 instances recorded from October 2020 to May 2023. The U.S. Coast Guard has also intercepted over 4,600 Haitian migrants at sea in the same period. It’s a clear indication that Haiti is in turmoil, and the Biden administration’s lax immigration policies have only made the situation worse.

Let’s not forget the assassination of President Jovenel Moïse in July 2021, a tragedy that plunged the nation into chaos. On top of that, over half of the country’s population was already living in poverty, with gang violence ravaging the capital city, Port-au-Prince, and beyond. Instead of providing assistance and support to help restore peace and stability, the Biden administration has allowed crucial leaders and professionals to escape to the U.S., leaving a void that will only increase violence and suffering for the Haitian people.

Once again, the Biden administration’s misguided policies have proven to be disastrous. Their failure to address the root causes of violent conflict and their eagerness to prioritize open borders over national security are putting American interests and the wellbeing of the Haitian people at risk. It’s time for true leadership and accountability, not reckless decisions that exacerbate crises and leave nations in ruins.
