The Biden State Department has just issued a worldwide caution for Americans traveling abroad, and it’s not looking good, folks. The details are a bit sparse, but I can tell you that attacks from Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and Hezbollah terrorists against Israel, as well as recent Iran-backed militia attacks on U.S. forces in Iraq, are the main culprits behind this advisory. It seems that the Arab world is in quite a tizzy over false reports of an Israeli strike on a hospital in the Gaza Strip, which turned out to be a terrorist rocket misfire. And you know what that means – demonstrations and unrest near American and Israeli embassies. Yikes!
Now, the State Department is telling Americans to exercise increased caution while traveling abroad. They want you to “stay alert in locations frequented by tourists,” which is pretty much everywhere, and they even suggest enrolling in a program to receive information and alerts. Well, ain’t that swell? Maybe if the Biden administration hadn’t left Americans behind in Afghanistan during their disastrous withdrawal, we wouldn’t need these extra precautions. But hey, who needs responsibility when you can just issue a warning, right?
But wait, there’s more! The advisory also recommends that American travelers follow the Department of State on Facebook and Twitter. Because nothing says safety like social media, right? I can picture it now – “Oh no, there’s a terrorist attack happening! Let me just pull up Facebook real quick and see if the State Department has any updates.” Yeah, that’ll do the trick.
In case you needed more reasons to be concerned, the U.S. Embassy in Beirut is warning Americans to leave the country. Apparently, Iranian-backed Hezbollah is launching rocket attacks on Israeli civilians, and they pretty much control the government of Lebanon. So, yeah, that’s a mess. And now the State Department is suggesting that attacks on Americans might happen in other countries too. Great, just great. It seems like nowhere is safe anymore.
But don’t worry, the Biden administration and federal law enforcement want you to know that there aren’t any specific credible threats against the U.S. homeland. Well, that’s a relief, I guess. But it still doesn’t change the fact that there’s an uptick in threats around the world. Thanks, Hamas, for that surprise massacre attack on Israel. Really, top-notch stuff.
