It appears that Kristol has reached out to his fellow Never Trumpers with a rallying cry to “Stand with trans,” labeling Trump’s criticisms of transgender ideology as “unjust and dangerous.” For someone who’s been hopping between positions like a cat on a hot tin roof, this latest stance offers a peek into the mind of a man determined to reinvent himself.
In a recent post on social media platform X, Kristol shared an article by Marc Solomon—a partner at Civitas Public Affairs Group that likely permanently removed any memory of reason from its mission statement—calling to arms all those who believe in “supporting transgender Americans.” The article, which reads like a manifesto for the emotionally sensitive, chastises Trump’s administration for allegedly dehumanizing transgender individuals based on the noble act of protecting women’s sports and military standards. Apparently, realigning gender with biological facts is akin to a march of shame for Kristol and company.
Solomon’s piece drips with emotional manipulation, positing Trump as the modern-day villain in a tale of oppression reminiscent of a dystopian novel. He argues that the former president’s plan is to scapegoat a “small group of Americans” and undermine their existence, all while feigning concern for children’s safety in women’s sports. The irony is rich, considering that for years, those who prioritized biological reality over feelings have faced relentless attacks for their ‘violence’ against progressive thought.
In true virtue-signaling form, those in the Never Trump camp are ready to play the victim card to the hilt. Kristol’s and Solomon’s strategy appears to be straightforward: If they can paint Trump as a cruel oppressor with no understanding of the transgender experience, they might just rally enough emotional support to drown out any rational arguments about fairness and safety. Kristol is hardly one to shy away from using emotional weight to stir up outrage against anyone who dares challenge the progressive narrative.

It’s worth noting that Kristol’s recent suggestions, such as promoting the replacement of white, working-class Americans with migrants, should somewhat tarnish his credentials as a social justice champion. It’s almost comedic watching someone who once disparaged everyday Americans for their perceived flaws suddenly take the high road on a topic involving an even “smaller group” of marginalized individuals. If there is a competitive sport for hypocrisy, Kristol would earn a gold medal — complete with a pink ribbon, naturally.
With Trump having signed executive orders aimed at preserving women’s sports integrity and military standards, his administration seems committed to a more traditional interpretation of gender roles. Those orders emphasize fairness, safety, and biological truth over the trendy notion of gender fluidity that Kristol and his comrades are pushing. In the end, Kristol and company might find that the efforts to cast the former president as the enemy of “progress” will only serve to raise awareness among average Americans who still recognize common sense when they see it.
