Mike Rogers said he was speaking for himself in the GOP meeting when he threatened Rs who oppose McCarthy won't get committees, but adds:
"I said, 'I'm on the Steering committee. I know how the Steering Committee room works.' And that's the way it works."

It is noteworthy that Rogers had to be restrained after he reportedly lunged at Matt Gaetz.
After reaching deals with the opponents, McCarthy was able to become the new House speaker on Saturday night.
Today, Rogers announced that he would no longer serve on the powerful House Steering Committee.

He says he is doing this on his own accord, no one is encouraging him to take this step.
But he said also caveated there is the chance he could change his mind.

Although Rogers may be doing this on his own initiative, it's obvious that he has to step down from the committee due to the threats and anger he displayed on the House floor.
