Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT) is not bothered by the concerns about President Joe Biden’s age. In fact, he thinks Biden is doing an “extraordinary and historic” job as president. Wow, talk about party loyalty! Murphy points out all the major legislation that Biden has passed and claims that none of it would have happened without him. He calls Biden a “master legislative tactician,” whatever that means.
But it’s not just Murphy who is dismissing concerns about Biden’s age. Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has also brushed off the idea that Biden is too old to be president. It seems like the Democrats don’t want to admit that their guy might not be up to the task. Maybe they’re just in denial.

But not all Democrats are so blindly loyal. Representative Dean Phillips (D-MN) has publicly stated that he will not back Biden’s bid for reelection in 2024. He thinks the party should be looking to a “new generation of leadership” and promoting younger candidates. At least someone in the party has some common sense.
And it’s not just Democrats who have concerns about Biden’s age. A recent poll found that seven out of ten respondents, including half of Democrats, think Biden is too old to be president. It’s not a good look when people from your own party think you’re past your prime.
But let’s not forget about former President Donald Trump. He’s running for president again and he’s only four years younger than Biden. It seems like voters aren’t convinced that either of them is the best option for president. According to a recent poll, the majority of voters think that Biden is not the strongest candidate the Democrats could nominate, and the same goes for Trump and the Republicans. It looks like both parties might need to do some soul-searching before 2024.
