The latest legal woes for former President Donald Trump continue to pile up, like a never-ending game of Jenga for the Democrats. This time, it’s the Democrats in Georgia who are itching to take a swing at the former commander-in-chief. According to The Guardian, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis is considering criminally indicting Trump in a racketeering conspiracy. Yes, you heard that right, they’re trying to turn an ex-president into a mob boss.
It seems the Democrats in Georgia are trying to stretch their jurisdiction as far as it can go, like a kid with a piece of chewing gum. They’re using an “expansive” anti-racketeering statute to pursue charges against Trump for crimes that allegedly extend beyond their jurisdiction. Apparently, they didn’t get the memo that Donald Trump is no longer in office. But hey, who needs to follow the rules when you’re on a mission to take down a Republican?
The charges being considered against Trump include influencing witnesses and computer trespass. The witness influencing charge is tied to that infamous phone call between Trump and Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, where Trump dared to question the integrity of the 2020 election. Oh, the horror! How dare he suggest there might have been fraud in an election where questions were raised by millions of Americans?
And let’s not forget about the alleged computer trespass charges. According to the Democrats, Trump’s henchmen managed to access and copy data from voting machines in Georgia’s Coffee County. But wait a minute, isn’t investigating potential election fraud a good thing? Shouldn’t we be applauding anyone who wants to get to the bottom of any irregularities? Apparently not if you’re a Republican and your name is Donald J. Trump.
In case you were wondering, this investigation has been going on for over two years. Two years of taxpayer money wasted on yet another witch hunt against the former president. It’s clear that the Democrats are determined to keep going after Trump until they find something, anything, to pin on him. They just can’t accept the fact that he beat them fair and square in 2016 and came pretty close to doing it again in 2020.
But it’s not just Georgia that’s after Trump. He’s facing a laundry list of legal troubles all across the country. The Federal Special Counsel has already indicted him for mishandling classified documents, and there’s talk of even more charges related to his efforts to challenge the 2020 election results. The Manhattan district attorney is going after him for alleged business fraud, and the New York Attorney General has filed a civil lawsuit against the Trump Organization. It’s a never-ending barrage of legal battles for the former president.
So, while the Democrats continue their relentless pursuit of Trump, the American people are left wondering when they’ll finally move on and focus on the real issues facing our country. Maybe one day they’ll realize that their vendetta against Trump is doing nothing to improve the lives of hardworking Americans. But until then, we’ll just have to sit back and watch the Democrats play their favorite game: “Let’s See How Many Charges We Can Throw at Trump.”
