In a daring and heroic move, Florida authorities have seized over 22 pounds of fentanyl that was illegally brought into the United States. This astounding discovery has once again highlighted President Joe Biden’s failure to secure the southern border, as Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) pointed out. The Polk County Sheriff’s Office made the announcement on Tuesday, revealing that they had arrested three individuals involved in the trafficking of this dangerous drug.

The fentanyl, which originated from Mexico and made its way through California before reaching Florida, has a street value of approximately $2.5 million. This amount of deadly poison could potentially kill an astonishing five million people if taken in overdose amounts. It’s truly terrifying to think about the devastation caused by this nefarious drug, and the fact that it was able to enter our country unchecked is simply unacceptable.
Sheriff Grady Judd, a true hero in the fight against drug trafficking, warned of the danger that these drugs pose. He expressed his gratitude to the local, state, and national law enforcement agencies who worked together to bring down these criminals. It’s clear that the Sinaloa cartel, a notorious drug trafficking organization, is the source of this deadly supply. The individuals arrested were Ruperto Rocha (67), Juan Manuel Gutierrez Medina (57), and Juan Manuel Contreras Gutierrez (25), two of whom are in the country illegally.
Governor DeSantis didn’t mince words when addressing this fentanyl bust. He criticized President Biden for his refusal to control the border, leaving states like Florida to deal with the dangerous consequences. It’s high time that the Biden administration takes responsibility for their failure to secure our borders and protect American citizens. We rely on our law enforcement officers to keep us safe, and it’s thanks to their bravery and dedication that this major drug operation was dismantled.
The three men have been charged with trafficking fentanyl, a crime that carries a mandatory minimum term of imprisonment of 25 years and a hefty fine.
