Dick Durbin expressed his doubts about Israel’s claims regarding the use of weapons provided by the U.S. in accordance with international law. The senator cited the “humanitarian disaster taking place in Gaza and the deaths of so many innocent people, including many women and children” as reasons for his skepticism.
When pressed by host Boris Sanchez on whether he believed Israel’s assurances or if the U.S. should cease providing weapons if their claims were unsubstantiated, Durbin emphasized the need for credibility and reliability in such assertions. He urged for more specific evidence from Israel to support their claims, pointing to the ongoing crisis in Gaza as evidence of their failure to abide by international law.
Durbin got his start in Illinois politics with help from Democratic activists in the Jewish community who vouched for his pro-Israel views.
