In the aftermath of the opening hearing in the impeachment inquiry against President Biden, the media and a group of prominent Democrats have been twisting the words of legal scholar Jonathan Turley to fit their narrative that the inquiry lacks evidence. They took a small snippet from a longer quote where Turley was making a completely different point.
During the hearing, Turley, along with former Assistant Attorney General Eileen O’Connor and forensic accounting specialist Bruce Dubinsky, testified as witnesses. The purpose of the hearing, titled “The Basis For An Impeachment Inquiry of President Joseph R. Biden Jr.,” was to evaluate the merits of the inquiry and examine evidence brought forward by House Republicans regarding the Biden family’s business connections with foreign entities.
The hearing was filled with heated exchanges between Republicans and Democrats, as they reviewed text messages, emails, and financial records related to the Biden family’s business dealings. At the end of the hearing, House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY) announced his intention to issue subpoenas targeting key members of the Biden family.
However, instead of focusing on the evidence presented during the hearing, Democrats and corporate media outlets took a soundbite from Turley out of context. They claimed Turley had said that the inquiry lacks evidence. In reality, Turley’s statement was part of a larger quote where he clarified that he believed there was enough evidence to warrant an impeachment inquiry, but not enough to meet the standard required for an actual article of impeachment.
It is clear that the Democrats and media outlets were more interested in pushing a false narrative than in accurately portraying the testimony of Turley and the overall purpose of the hearing. They conveniently left out the fact that Turley supports the impeachment inquiry and believes there is enough evidence to warrant further investigation into the Biden family’s potential involvement in corrupt practices.
This is just another example of how the left and their allies in the media will twist the truth to fit their agenda. It is important for the American people to seek out accurate information and not blindly accept the partisan narratives fed to them by biased sources. The truth should always prevail, regardless of political motivations.
