There has been an outrage in San Francisco as the city has appointed a non-citizen, Kelly Wong, to oversee its elections. Yep, you read that right – a foreign national with no legal voting rights in the U.S. will be making decisions about how American elections are administered. Can you believe it? This is not a joke, folks!

Wong, who hails from Hong Kong, was sworn into the city’s seven-member Elections Commission by none other than San Francisco’s Department of Elections. And get this, she is described as an “immigrant rights advocate,” which is just a fancy way of saying she thinks non-citizens should have a say in our elections.
Thanks to a city measure approved in 2020, non-citizens are now eligible to sit on boards and commissions in San Francisco. Can you believe the audacity of these liberal elites? They think it’s perfectly fine for people who aren’t even citizens of this great country to have a say in its governance. It’s an absolute insult to every hardworking American who has earned their citizenship!
But wait, there’s more! San Francisco Board of Supervisors President Aaron Peskin even praised Wong for her advocacy and work with voters. He said he was “impressed by her commitment to enfranchising people who rarely vote.” Seriously? Is this some kind of twisted joke? Since when did it become acceptable to have a non-citizen involved in shaping the future of our nation?
When Wong was asked about her appointment, she had the nerve to say that her recent arrival in the country should not disqualify her from overseeing elections. She even had the audacity to claim she wanted to inspire other foreign nationals to get involved in American public policy. Well, here’s a newsflash, Wong: The American people want American citizens running our elections, not foreigners!
The Federal Election Commission has regulations that prohibit foreign nationals from participating in decision-making processes related to election activities, and yet here we are, with a citizen of another country overseeing one of the most crucial aspects of American democracy.
And to add insult to injury, San Francisco allows foreign nationals to vote in local school board elections if they have a child enrolled in the district. What a disgrace! This is a slap in the face to every law-abiding American citizen who takes their right to vote seriously.
