It’s time to dig into the latest partisan political drama unfolding in Washington! The Republicans have launched a full-on inquiry into whether the shady January 6 Select Committee handed over documents to Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis to help build a sneaky criminal case against the former President, Donald Trump. Oh boy, this is like a real-life political soap opera!

Republican Reps. Jim Jordan and Barry Loudermilk are leading the charge, demanding that Ms. Willis and Rep. Bennie Thompson cough up any documents related to their suspicious investigative coordination. Mr. Jordan, the big cheese from Ohio and chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, announced back in August that he’s hot on the trail of Ms. Willis, trying to figure out if she played dirty with her indictment of Mr. Trump. Now that’s what we call dedication to the truth!
In a scathing letter, Mr. Jordan called out Ms. Willis for cozying up to the partisan January 6 Select Committee, accusing her of trying to pull a fast one by asking for access to congressional records. And get this – she even offered to trot on over to Washington to “meet with investigators in person” and nab those records. Talk about getting up close and personal with the evidence!
But the plot thickens! Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, the queen bee of the Democrats, handpicked all the members of the Jan. 6 panel and gave the boot to Kevin McCarthy’s Republican choices. Instead, she brought in Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger, both known for their anti-Trump antics. It’s like the Democrats are orchestrating their own little anti-Trump symphony!
But the drama doesn’t stop there. Mr. Loudermilk, the Georgia Republican, is throwing some heat of his own, grilling Mr. Thompson about the questionable sharing of records between the Jan. 6 committee and Ms. Willis. He’s raising eyebrows about the lack of transparency, pointing out that the American public has a right to see video recordings of witness interviews and depositions. It’s like a good ol’ game of political cat and mouse!
And just when you thought things couldn’t get any juicier, Mr. Loudermilk drops a bombshell – federal prosecutors working for Special Counsel Jack Smith spilled the beans in court that they were using unreleased transcripts provided by the Select Committee in their pursuit of Mr. Trump. Who knew politics could be as suspenseful as a crime thriller?
