The Biden administration is on the defense after a new poll by Fox News revealed that nearly half of voters believe that the president’s economic policies have hurt them. Two-thirds of respondents also expressed pessimism about the economy’s future. However, press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre remained steadfast in her support of “Bidenomics,” stating that the president has done everything possible to steer the economy back on track since taking office.

Despite the grim poll results, Jean-Pierre emphasized that the administration understands the ongoing concerns about affordability and acknowledged that Americans may not yet feel the positive impact of the president’s actions. She took the opportunity to call out Republicans for voting against the Inflation Reduction Act and opposing measures to lower healthcare costs for households.
The press secretary highlighted the administration’s efforts to tackle rising costs by addressing “junk fees” and lowering drug costs, emphasizing that these are top priorities for President Biden. Furthermore, the administration aims to bolster small businesses as a key component of its economic strategy, with Biden planning to showcase his support for small enterprises during a visit to Milwaukee.
The White House also boasted about a purported “record” 14 million applications from individuals seeking to start small businesses, pointing to this as evidence of the positive impact of the president’s policies.
In the face of public skepticism and disapproval, the White House remains resolute in its messaging that Bidenomics is the antidote to the current economic woes. While the administration acknowledges the existing challenges, it continues to tout its efforts in addressing affordability and nurturing small businesses as crucial elements of its economic vision.
