Hero Slain Defending Trans Friend: Media Silent on Black Suspect

In a tragic incident earlier this month, a man in Portland was fatally stabbed while defending his transgender friend from a convicted criminal. Surprisingly, this story hasn’t received much attention in the mainstream media. Why is that, you ask? Well, it’s quite simple – the suspect is black.

Now, before you jump to conclusions or accuse us of racism, let’s consider the facts. The victim, Colin Michael Smith, was a white male who bravely stood up for his transgender friend when she was being harassed by the suspect, Rahnique Usef Jackson. Witnesses believe this was a hate crime fueled by anti-transgender sentiments. But why aren’t we hearing more about it? Could it be because it doesn’t fit the media’s narrative?

If the races were reversed in this case, you can be sure that the media would be all over it. We would know every detail about the suspect’s life, from his high school to his first car. But when it comes to a black suspect accused of murdering a white victim, the media suddenly goes silent. It’s a double standard that is all too familiar in today’s politically charged climate.

Adding insult to injury, you won’t find Jackson’s mugshot anywhere. Unlike other accused criminals, his face isn’t plastered across the Internet. The local outlets have conveniently overlooked this crucial piece of information. It’s as if they’re trying to protect him from public scrutiny. But why? Shouldn’t the public have the right to know who this man is and what he looks like?

Unfortunately, Oregon law now restricts the release of booking photos unless there is a conviction. This legislation, pushed by Democrats, protects the privacy of violent offenders and hinders critical reporting on political violence. It’s a dangerous road we’re heading down when criminals are given more protection than their victims.

But let’s not forget about the real victim in this story. Colin Michael Smith was a hero who lost his life defending his friend. He was known for his empathy and acceptance of people from all walks of life. His dream was to open his own restaurant and bring people together through food. It’s a shame that his life was cut short by senseless violence.

As conservatives, we believe in justice and equality for all. But we also believe in holding the media accountable when they selectively report on crimes based on the race or gender of those involved. It’s time for the mainstream media to start telling the whole truth, even if it doesn’t fit their preferred narrative. Only then can we truly have an informed and fair society.
