In a shocking turn of events, a left-wing IRS consultant has been caught red-handed leaking the tax returns of former President Donald Trump and thousands of other private citizens, and House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Jason Smith is not having it! The Missouri Republican is urging a federal judge to throw the book at the offender, Charles Edward Littlejohn, and for good reason. A lenient sentence would only encourage more of these despicable crimes.

Littlejohn, 38, pleaded guilty to illegally stealing tax return information and disclosing it to the media from 2018 to 2020 while working as an IRS consultant. This bumpkin executed a carefully calculated plan to seek out a position with the IRS for the purpose of exposing the private information of Americans to further his own political agenda. Can you believe the nerve of this guy?
The House Ways and Means Committee, along with 24 other Republicans, are standing up against this madness. They are urging Judge Ana Reyes of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia to impose the maximum penalty of five years in jail for Littlejohn’s crime. And who could blame them? This is a clear violation of the law and justice must be served!
But wait, it gets even crazier. Littlejohn’s lawyers had the audacity to argue for leniency, claiming their client broke federal laws because he was motivated by a sense of duty to the American people. What a load of hogwash! This is a disturbing illustration of the twisted psychosis of people with Trump Derangement Syndrome. They’ll stop at nothing, even if it means committing crimes to satisfy their hatred for the 45th president.
As if that wasn’t enough, it’s absolutely bonkers that Littlejohn’s actions may have had an impact on a Presidential election. It’s a good thing someone is finally standing up and calling out this warped, white-collar vigilante who abused his IRS position and breached the public trust.
In closing, the court must impose a sentence that sends a strong signal that the consequences for this type of action are severe. Let’s hope the judge has the good sense to recognize the importance of this case and delivers a sentence that reflects the seriousness of the crimes committed.
