Kamala Harris Criticized for Recycled Thanksgiving Video and Outfit Choices

Vice President Kamala Harris and her husband, second gentleman Doug Emhoff, decided to grace the nation with their version of Thanksgiving cheer this year. In what could only be described as a very enthusiastic bite-sized piece of the holiday spirit, the couple released a video where Emhoff reminded everyone that Thanksgiving is a time for reflection, family bonding, and, of course, sharing all those overly sentimental family stories. It appears, however, that the “togetherness” they are peddling may be more in line with a scripted performance than a heartfelt message.

The dynamic duo wasted no time in reiterating the standard talking points about gratitude for service members and their families. Harris dutifully banged the drum about appreciating those who sacrifice to protect American values, while Emhoff chimed in about the joys of cooking favorite recipes. One can’t help but wonder if their sincere expressions of Thanksgiving are more about political image crafting than genuine warmth. After all, it seems like they were more interested in hitting both reflection and canned messages—one to cater to those in the know and the other to pump up the holiday vibe.

Critics across the political spectrum recognized that Harris’s wardrobe might need a little wardrobe overhaul. The Vice President sported the same outfit in this video as she did in a previous one where she encouraged supporters not to let anyone “take their power.” Maybe there’s a Thanksgiving outfit shortage in her wardrobe, or perhaps there was a two-for-one bargain on jackets, who could say? It’s tough to really focus on gratitude when it appears the outfits are on repeat, making it look like she’s just phoning it in, right down to the curtains that seem straight out of a budget hotel.

The online backlash didn’t take long to surface, with critics pointing out her unoriginal attire and questioning the authenticity of her Thanksgiving message. The hilarity here is that while she talks about the importance of family gatherings, she can’t seem to pull off anything close to genuine spontaneity. Comments ranged from speculation about a “compound” where she was trapped in a single outfit, to outright disbelief at the same slurring delivery that has cast shadows on her previous addresses.

So, as the Harris-Emhoff Thanksgiving video made its rounds, one thing is clear: this holiday season may call for more than Thanksgiving platitudes. It’s a timely reminder that sometimes, clarity and authenticity get lost amidst the political showmanship, especially from the Vice President. Perhaps next year, viewers can look forward to something a little more genuine—or at least a change of wardrobe. After all, Thanksgiving is supposed to be about family, friends, and maybe a little less rehearsal.
