Bill Maher, the comedian and commentator, has always been a bit of an enigma when it comes to his political views. While he occasionally shows moments of clarity and reason amidst the insanity of the Left, he often falls back into supporting ludicrous progressive policies and politicians. However, Maher’s recent endorsement of California Governor Gavin Newsom takes the cake. Newsom, the man who has singlehandedly wreaked havoc on the Golden State in his pursuit of turning it into a socialist Utopia, is somehow praised by Maher, much to the disappointment of fellow liberals and even conservatives alike.
While The Atlantic writer and self-proclaimed liberal, Caitlin Flanagan, couldn’t fathom Newsom leading the country after witnessing the destruction he has caused in California, Maher seems to be blinded by his admiration. It’s truly mind-boggling how someone who claims to be a source of reason in the increasingly insane world of the Left can overlook the gall and failure of Newsom’s leadership.

But Maher’s questionable judgment doesn’t end there. Fitness guru Jillian Michaels recently gave him a reality check on his podcast when she called out his dismissal of the inflation crisis under the Biden administration. Michaels, who was once a self-described leftie, didn’t mince words when she told Maher to “buy some f***ing eggs” and pointed out the soaring prices of everyday necessities like cars and houses.
It’s clear that inflation is a real concern for average Americans, affecting our purchasing power and standard of living. Yet Maher, who has likely insulated himself from its impact, dismisses its significance. Perhaps his success has shielded him from the harsh realities faced by the majority of Americans. It’s a shame to see someone who seemingly understands the flaws of progressive ideology turn a blind eye to the struggles of everyday citizens.
Kudos to Michaels for setting Maher straight and not being afraid to confront him on these crucial issues. It’s refreshing to witness someone like her wake up and smell the coffee, even if others have willfully blinded themselves for so long. Inflation is not something to be taken lightly, and it’s about time Maher acknowledges the experiences and hardships of the average American.
On a lighter note, Maher and Michaels also had an amusing discussion about the origins of the COVID-19 virus and how our government tried to gaslight us into believing it couldn’t possibly be related to the Wuhan Institute of Virology. The segment serves as a reminder of the untrustworthiness of those in power, a fact that many of us have come to recognize over the past two years.
