McBride Subpoenas Ed Chief: Expose the $2M Deal or Face the Music!

Oklahoma Superintendent of Instruction Ryan Walters didn’t want to play nice with the big boys in the state House of Representatives, but Rep. Mark McBride wasn’t having it. The lawmaker issued a subpoena to Walters, demanding answers about a juicy $2 million contract with a software company and how Walters plans to help out those struggling schools.

McBride wasn’t satisfied with Walters’ claims of 950 out-of-state teachers applying to work in Oklahoma. He wanted the nitty-gritty details: What subjects do they teach? What degrees do they hold?

Walters threw a little tantrum on social media, accusing both the Democrats and his own party of coming after him. But McBride stayed cool as a cucumber, hoping for a “less adversarial” relationship with Walters in the future.

Those pesky House Democrats are trying to stir the pot even more by calling for Walters’ possible impeachment. But who knows, maybe Speaker Charles McCall will give in and form a committee to dig up more dirt on poor ol’ Walters.

This whole thing is like a reality TV show, with power plays, tension, and drama. Will Walters come out on top? Will McBride get the juicy info he’s after?
