The U.S.-Mexico border has experienced an enormous increase in illegal immigration due to the immigration policies of the Biden administration. As per the latest figures disclosed by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), there have been over a million migrant encounters at the southern border during the initial five months of fiscal year 2023, which is an alarming rise from the 458,000 migrants apprehended in fiscal year 2020 and the 1.7 million in fiscal year 2021.
CBP released operational statistics for September 2022, which can be viewed on our website.

During his testimony before Congress on Wednesday, Border Patrol Chief Raul Ortiz stated that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) does not possess "operational control" of the southern border. Ortiz further added that between October 2022 and February 2023, over 385,000 migrants have managed to escape federal authorities along the southern border, and this figure is possibly an underestimate of the actual number.

President Joe Biden's policies in reaction to this crisis have worsened the problem. He extended Title 42, the public health order initiated during the Trump administration to expedite the expulsion of some illegal migrants, to now include Venezuelans, Cubans, Nicaraguans, and Haitians. Additionally, he established legal channels for Title 42 exemptions that enabled over 20,000 migrants to enter the country and for humanitarian parole at airports.
The truth is that President Biden's immigration policies have resulted in an open border policy that encourages illegal immigration, endangering our nation's security. The Biden administration has not taken effective measures to safeguard our borders and shield our people from the surge of illegal immigrants. This is a definite indication of the Biden administration prioritizing politics over the safety of the public and national security.
Immediate action is imperative for the Biden administration to secure our borders and put an end to this crisis. Our laws need to be enforced, and our borders need to be safeguarded from illegal immigration. It is not acceptable to have illegal immigrants exploiting our lenient immigration policies and overrunning our nation. The Biden administration needs to take necessary measures to terminate this crisis and re-establish control over our southern border.
