In a blatant display of partisan bias, MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell recently used her interview with Vice President Kamala Harris to launch a false and racially charged attack against Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. Mitchell falsely claimed that DeSantis was opposed to teaching the fact of slavery in schools. In reality, DeSantis is not opposed to teaching the fact of slavery in schools, as it is mandated in Florida schools. His objection to the College Board’s proposed AP course was based on left-wing ideology stuffed into one out of four units laid out in the syllabus.
To all of the bookers and producers reaching out to our office from @NBCNews and @MSNBC for @GovRonDeSantis to join your shows, this will be the standard response from our office until @mitchellreports apologizes and your track record improves. pic.twitter.com/8kQcLLEVzW

On Wednesday, Mitchell made a partial apology, but her attempt to correct the record fell short. While she retracted the most extreme falsehood, she continued to attack DeSantis’ overall ideology, deferring to “historians and teachers” who share her own biases. This strategy is frequently used by journalists to inject their own opinions into their reporting.
So many media outlets have this strategy for reporting on Asian and Hispanic communities — they talk to progressive activists and treat their comments as being representative of the whole community. https://t.co/ROolsbffId

"People are now faced with the reality that in places like Florida, books that discuss Black history or even mention Black people are now illegal."

? Is FL Gov. Ron DeSantis guilty of “mounting a ‘full-blown white supremacist’ attack on ‘fact-based history,’ as WaPo’s @JRubinBlogger claims? Not so fast.@rickhess99 takes a close look for @thedispatch.https://t.co/63e7VAojzu

Team DeSantis is rightfully rejecting Mitchell’s faux correction and has put NBC on notice, telling them that no requests for interviews or comment will be granted unless and until Mitchell issues an on-air correction. This is a clear example of the liberal media’s attempt to push their own agenda and distort the truth. It is unacceptable for journalists to use their platforms to spread lies and misinformation.
The fact-checkers have also noted the historically wrong 1619 Project, which continues to get things wrong. This further proves that the liberal media is more interested in pushing their own agenda than providing accurate information.
It is time for the liberal media to start being honest and transparent about their reporting. The American people deserve to know the truth, not be fed lies and misinformation. It is up to journalists to ensure that they are providing accurate information and not using their platforms to push their own political agenda.
