Newsmax? Rumble? Tucker Carlson Weighs His Options After Fox News Firing

Fox News’ decision to fire Tucker Carlson, the top cable host in America, has left him restricted by his contract, but he is said to be ready for “war,” according to a new report from Axios. Fox is prepared to pay Carlson $20 million a year to not work until January 2025, when the contract ends. However, Carlson’s lawyer was quick to dismiss the suggestion that he would be silenced, saying that “the idea that anyone is going to silence Tucker and prevent him from speaking to his audience is beyond preposterous.”

Axios revealed that Carlson has already been approached by rival outlets including Newsmax and Rumble, while he himself has even considered starting his own direct-to-consumer operation. His team is said to be “preparing for war,” within days of his firing, according to one of Carlson’s friends. The same friend also claimed that Carlson “knows where a lot of bodies are buried, and is ready to start drawing a map.”

Fox has struggled to replace Carlson in the ratings since his show was canceled, with a rotating series of hosts drawing a fraction of Carlson’s viewership during his former 8 p.m. hour. While initially he wanted a “quiet” separation from Fox, it seems Carlson has now become more combative. The network has been caught allegedly leaking information about Carlson so as to damage him, but his fans see this as simply revealing his authenticity.

Once his Fox contract expires, Carlson would “immediately become the hottest free agent in media,” the report states. It is no wonder Fox is concerned – no other host boasts Carlson’s significant viewership.
