Cynthia Nixon, known for her role in "Sex and the City," is supporting a hunger strike lasting two days to advocate for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza amid the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas. While others are committed to up to five days of fasting, Nixon aims to draw attention to the situation in Gaza, emphasizing its abnormality and urging President Joe Biden to take action for a ceasefire. Alongside five Democratic state lawmakers, including Zohran Mamdani, Mauree Turner, Sam Rasoul, Abraham Aiyash, and Madinah Wilson-Anton, Nixon seeks to exert pressure on Biden and Congress. Nixon is one of 260 artists signing an open letter urging a ceasefire, and over 300 artists have called on Biden to continue efforts to release Israeli and U.S. citizens held captive by Hamas.
