Polls Show Trump Leading Biden as 2024 Election Nears Despite Challenges

Despite President Biden's and his allies' efforts in local governments, former President Donald Trump continues to gain support and lead in polls as the 2024 campaign approaches. A new poll from CNN shows that Trump is favored to win a rematch, with 49% of registered voters favoring Trump compared to 43% for Biden. This marks a slight decrease for Biden from a previous poll in January.

The same poll also indicates a shift in how Americans view the presidencies of Trump and Biden. A majority of 55% consider Trump’s single term a success, up from 44% shortly after the events at the Capitol in 2021. In contrast, 61% consider Biden’s tenure a failure, with only 39% considering it a success.

Other recent polls largely agree with the findings of the CNN poll, showing Trump with a one to three-point lead over President Biden in a potential 2024 rematch. The RealClearPolitics average puts Trump ahead by a point, while Trump also holds the lead in critical battleground states such as Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.

If the presidential election were held today, not only would Trump win in the Electoral College, but he would also win the popular vote. The polling indicates a significant advantage for Trump, with the last Republican to achieve this being George W. Bush in 2004.

Despite ongoing legal battles in New York and Georgia, the polling shows that Trump’s lead continues to grow. Many Americans are concerned with issues such as groceries, inflation, gas prices, illegal immigration, and crime, and they compare these to their experiences during Trump’s presidency.

It remains to be seen if Biden can turn public perception around and stop his downward spiral in the polls. With the gap between Trump and Biden growing, the likelihood of that happening decreases daily. This upcoming election is crucial for every American, and support for candidates is essential in the fight for America’s future.
