President Biden’s National Security Advisor, Jake Sullivan, told reporters at the White House Tuesday morning that North Korea would pay a price if it goes through with an arms deal agreement with Russia. Sullivan stated that giving any weapons assistance to Russia “is not going to reflect well on North Korea, and they will pay a price for this in the international community.”

Well, well, well, it seems like Russia just can’t help but make some enemies. After throwing a tantrum about the possibility of the U.S. Military stationing nuclear weapons in England, now they’re cozying up to North Korea. Do they not learn? When your friends start throwing around threats of nuclear war, maybe you should reconsider your alliances. But I guess North Korea and Russia deserve each other. They’re like two peas in a pod – both ruled by authoritarian leaders who have no regard for human rights or international laws.

And speaking of Russia, their little war with Ukraine seems to be going swimmingly for them – not! Reports are coming in that Ukrainian forces are making significant progress, pushing the Russian troops back and giving them a taste of their own medicine. Good for Ukraine! They’ve been fighting against Russian aggression for far too long, and it’s about time they start gaining the upper hand. But let’s not get too excited. Russia still has the numbers advantage and the ability to replenish their ranks. It’s going to take a lot more than a few setbacks to fully defeat them.
But here’s the real problem – this whole Ukraine conflict is costing the United States a pretty penny. Our budget deficit has skyrocketed, thanks in part to our funding of Ukraine. And let’s not forget that it’s also depleting our military stockpiles. We simply can’t afford to keep pouring money and resources into this proxy war. Not when we have a looming threat from China right around the corner. Our military readiness is being compromised, and that should be a cause for concern. We need to start focusing on our own national security and prioritizing the needs of Americans, not getting caught up in other countries’ battles.
It’s time to end this war, and the only way to do that is through diplomatic negotiations. Pouring more money into Ukraine won’t solve anything. It’s time for some strategic thinking and a plan to bring about a peaceful resolution. Let’s hope our leaders start acting like adults and put an end to this nightmare. Our nation’s future depends on it.
