In a spirited battle to restore what he calls America’s “Golden Age,” former President Donald Trump has taken decisive measures to cleanse the ranks of the Justice Department. It turns out he’s not keen on keeping any U.S. attorneys appointed during the Biden administration. Trump laid out his orders on Truth Social, declaring that all remaining “Biden Era” U.S. Attorneys are to be shown the door. It appears that his mission is clear: dust off the old broom and sweep out what he sees as a politicized department.
The former president’s approach to the Justice Department is reminiscent of a spring cleaning with a bit of flair. He pointed out that under Biden, the DOJ had adopted a rather unsavory political agenda, transforming it into an organization more focused on political vendettas than on impartial justice. In Trump’s view, this grand overhaul must happen without delay. The notion that America can have a fair justice system only when his agenda is implemented is a mantra he seems excited to promote.

Trump is not just stopping at the termination of U.S. attorneys. Reports indicate that he has also recently axed over 20 immigration lawyers from the Department of Justice—these were lawyers appointed for their pro-migration stance. The administration’s message is clear: if you are not on Team Trump, you aren’t welcome. After all, who wants a team full of liberal-minded individuals when the goal is to bring back a conservative victory lap with every legal decision?
Under the Trump administration, the shake-up has also seen the firing of over a dozen prosecutors who had previously worked on special counsel Jack Smith’s cases. This is all in the name of ensuring loyalty and focus on Trump’s agenda. According to a Department of Justice insider, confidence ran low regarding whether these fired officials were capable of faithfully implementing what Trump envisioned for his comeback strategy. It’s hard to judge where integrity fits into his game plan when loyalty seems to reign supreme.
Interestingly, in his mission, Trump has also recognized the reality that the perceived weaponization of the DOJ and the FBI against him could have bolstered his re-election bid. As outrageous as it sounds, he suggested that the very tactics used to undermine him likely played into his favor. This adds a layer of irony to an already captivating saga where political partisanship runs rampant, making it clear that the stakes in this ongoing political drama are higher than ever.
