Trump Backs Ken Paxton, Impeachment Be Damned!

In a post on Truth Social, Donald Trump stated his support for Ken Paxton, the Texas Attorney General who is currently facing impeachment proceedings. He criticized the establishment RINOS for trying to undo his re-election last year.

Addressing the issue of who would replace Ken Paxton as the next attorney general, Trump noted that he is regarded as one of the toughest in the nation. He also expressed his concerns about a potential RINO filling the position, which would leave voters without a voice.

This isn't the first time Trump has come to the defense of Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton. During the presidential campaign, he supported Trump and urged the Supreme Court to take up the issue of the election's legitimacy. Then, in May, the House of Representatives voted to impeach him.

The charges that were brought against him included multiple counts of corruption, including bribery, obstruction of justice, and abuse of power. Some of these allegations claimed that he had granted a prominent real estate developer a favor, used public funds for the retaliation of a whistleblower, and had an affair with a woman.

In response to the charges, Paxton entered a plea not guilty. However, the other four cases are still being investigated. Following his dismissal from his position as the state's attorney general, he released a statement to express his frustration at not being given an opportunity to present his case.

Like Trump, he referred to those who support the impeachment of Ken Paxton as liberal and RINOs. Despite the charges that have been brought against him, his supporters have maintained that there is not enough evidence to support the allegations.

Senator Ted Cruz of Texas also supported Ken Paxton. He noted that the allegations against him were part of an attempt to remove a conservative official from office. According to Cruz, the reason for the impeachment process was because of his outspoken opposition to policies that were not beneficial to the state.

On the day of the trial's start, prosecutors announced that they would not be presenting their case. As a result, his attorney asked for the charges against him to be dismissed. However, after the two parties withdrew their requests, the trial still continued.
