In an exclusive interview with Breitbart News, Kash Patel, a former House Intelligence Committee aide and principal deputy at the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, stated that it is not a coincidence that former President Donald Trump drew a biased judge to oversee his 2020 election case related to the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot. The judge in question is U.S. District Judge Tanya S. Chutkan, who was appointed to the bench by the Obama administration in 2014. According to Patel, Chutkan is a partisan judge who lacks the ability to be fair and neutral.

One of the reasons Patel cites for his belief is the fact that Chutkan previously worked at a law firm called Boies, Schiller, & Flexner, where she was colleagues with Hunter Biden for five years. Patel argues that this association raises red flags and calls into question Chutkan’s objectivity. He also points out that Chutkan recused herself from overseeing a case concerning Trump and the Russia hoax in 2017, which further demonstrates her bias.
Patel goes on to explain that Chutkan’s involvement in a lawsuit related to Fusion GPS, a Democrat-aligned “disinformation firm,” is another justification for his skepticism. Fusion GPS had filed suit to block the release of bank records that linked their funds to the Steele Dossier, which played a role in the FBI’s investigation into Trump. Patel argues that Chutkan’s association with Fusion GPS and her failure to recuse herself from the case immediately suggest a lack of ethics and impartiality.
Overall, Patel’s statements indicate his belief that Chutkan is unfit to oversee Trump’s election case due to her partisan background and previous involvement in cases related to the Russia hoax. His claims raise concerns about the potential for bias in the legal proceedings and question the integrity of the justice system.
