Former President Donald Trump has promised to plan a massive celebration for America’s 250th year of independence if he regains the White House in 2024, according to Politico. The bash will be a 12-month celebration, starting on Memorial Day in 2025 and ending on the Fourth of July in 2026. Trump has pledged to organize a “Salute to America 250” task force that will be responsible for organizing the year-long event. The former president also promised to work with all states to create the “National Garden of American Heroes” and place Great American State Fairs all across the nation.
Trump further stated that the “Great American State Fair” will be held at Iowa’s state fairgrounds, and it will showcase the strengths and beauty of every state. He hopes that the people of Iowa will work with his administration to make this festival a reality and welcome millions of visitors from all across the globe.

The former president’s proposed celebration is reminiscent of his administration’s ideologies concerning patriotism and the teaching of American history. In 2020, Trump established the 1776 Commission, which emphasizes the teaching of patriotic history lessons to younger generations, which aimed to counter The New York Times’ “1619 Project.”
In Trump’s policy video, he expressed his gratitude to America’s religious communities and invited them to pray for America as the nation prepares for this momentous occasion. America has always been a country sustained and strengthened by prayer and our communities of faith.
America last celebrated an anniversary like this in 1976, which was the 200th anniversary of the country’s independence. The then-President, Gerald Ford, oversaw a year-long celebration that began in April 1975 and ended on the Fourth of July in 1976. The American Freedom Train traveled across the nation’s 48 contiguous states, celebrating the country’s history and achievements.
