Former President Donald Trump has been proven right once again as Democratic Congresswoman Susan Wild’s recent comments reveal the contempt Washington elites have for working class Americans. On a Zoom call with other Democratic lawmakers, Wild was caught disparaging her own constituents in Pennsylvania. In the video clip, Wild complains about representing Carbon County after the borders of her district were redrawn. She goes on to compare Trump voters to members of a suicidal cult, claiming they drank the “Trump Kool-Aid” and turned the district into a red county. Her remark is not only disrespectful but also reminiscent of the tragic events of the Jonestown Massacre in 1978.

Unsurprisingly, Wild’s offensive comments were met with immediate condemnation. Republican Pennsylvania State Representative Ryan Mackenzie, who is running against Wild in the upcoming elections, called her out for disregarding the values of her constituents and holding radical opinions. It is clear that Wild has no regard for the hardworking families she is supposed to represent.
In response to the backlash, Wild issued a statement attempting to save face. She claimed that it is an “honor” to represent Carbon County and expressed her gratitude for her constituents. However, these empty words do not absolve her of the disdain she showed for Trump supporters and the working class. It is clear that Wild is more interested in pushing her own radical agenda than genuinely working for the people.
This incident is yet another example of the stark disconnect between the Democratic elites and everyday Americans. Wild’s comments expose the true nature of the progressive left – they look down on those who don’t align with their ideology. It is evident that Washington elites like Wild are out of touch with the concerns and values of ordinary citizens.
