Former President Donald Trump did what he does best and took to social media to vent his frustrations after being booted from Forbes magazine’s list of the 400 richest Americans. In a typically Trumpian fashion, he called the magazine “fake” and deemed it a “very badly failing” publication. Ouch, those words will surely sting the editors at Forbes.
Not one to hold back, Trump posted on his newly launched Truth Social platform to express his disdain for the magazine. According to him, Forbes lost its relevance a long time ago and knows absolutely nothing about him. Well, that’s one way to give them a piece of his mind.
Last week, Forbes announced that Trump didn’t make the cut for their prestigious list. Apparently, his estimated $2.6 billion fortune fell short by a mere $300 million. Talk about a close call. Forbes also noted that Trump’s net worth took quite a tumble, declining over $600 million compared to last year. Ouch, again. Looks like running Truth Social might come at a cost.
But Trump didn’t take this snub lying down. He accused Forbes of removing him from their “Fake Forbes 400 list” by the narrowest of margins. He also took a swipe at the magazine’s credibility, labeling their ranking system as “very dated and discredited ‘antique.'” Strong words, Mr. Trump.
Not content with just slamming Forbes, Trump aimed his ire at New York Attorney General Letitia James, who he called “racist and highly incompetent.” James has brought a civil fraud case against Trump, alleging that he lied about the value of his company, property, and net worth. Ah, the drama never ends.
In a final display of bravado, Trump proclaimed that Forbes had tried to take him down with their “dumb writers” but failed miserably. He also boasted about his popularity within the GOP and claimed to be trouncing President Joe Biden in the polls. Well, he certainly knows how to end a rant on a high note.
You’ve got to hand it to Trump; he never fails to deliver a captivating spectacle. Whether you agree with his politics or not, there’s no denying that he knows how to keep us entertained. Time will tell if he can claw his way back onto Forbes’ list, but for now, he’ll have to console himself with his impressive Republican support and beating “Crooked Joe” in the polls. So much for Forbes, indeed.
