Trump Surges in Battleground States While Harris Loses Ground Among Key Voter Demographics

Former President Donald Trump is surging in battleground states, while Vice President Kamala Harris’ political fortunes seem to be waning faster than a D-list movie in its opening weekend. The latest insights from a USA TODAY/Suffolk University poll reveal that Trump is leading the pack in Arizona—a state Biden flipped blue in 2020. With a six-point edge, Trump has 48 percent of support compared to Harris’s struggle at 42 percent. For a former president known for his flair, this leap is proving yet again that there’s no fooling the great American public.

Harris once rode a wave of early enthusiasm after stepping in for the increasingly absent Biden, but now she appears to be the poster child for one of the biggest political turnarounds since the last time someone thought polka dots would make a comeback. Her support is eroding nationally, particularly among demographics that had been expected to back her unconditionally. And it’s not just Republicans who are noticing this; even some previous Harris supporters are rethinking their choices at the ballot box.

In a twist that could astound even the most seasoned political strategists, Trump is picking up support among Black voters. Reports indicate that 29 percent of Black voters now favor him. While Harris holds the majority with 67 percent support, the fact that 48 percent of voters are willing to back Trump indicates she’s not exactly what voters envisioned when they cheered for “the first woman of color” in a high office. This revelation has ripple effects, leaving pundits scrambling to explain how Trump may not be the election’s only wild card.

Women’s support for Trump is also on the rise, indicating that Harris might need to reassess her campaign tactics. According to recent polls, 44 percent of female voters are leaning toward Trump, while Harris hovers at 49 percent. Meanwhile, Trump is crushing it with male voters, leading 54 percent to Harris’s 37 percent. It turns out that far from just being a sideshow, Trump’s economic messaging resonates where it counts, especially when inflation has become the unwelcome guest at dinner tables across the nation.

While poor Kamala is reportedly “too busy” campaigning to participate in interviews, it seems she is instead making the rounds at star-studded Hollywood events, fueled by her endorsements from high-profile celebs like Oprah and Taylor Swift. That should ring alarm bells for anyone who thought Harris was still connected to the average American. Instead, it appears she’s more interested in sipping lattes with millionaires than addressing the struggles of families trying to make ends meet. As inflation worsens and the cost of living spikes, it becomes clearer that the elite endorsements may prove to be as useful as a screen door on a submarine. This disconnect is a golden opportunity for Republicans to remind voters that it’s Democrats who are cozying up to Hollywood, leaving the hardworking Americans in the rearview mirror.
