In support of Kevin McCarthy, President Donald Trump told Republicans to vote for him for House speaker.
Trump told Republicans to avoid turning their victory into an embarrassing defeat. He also said that they should keep their focus on the positive.
This seems like a forced endorsement. Trump stated that McCarthy would do a good job, but that doesn't seem like a vote of confidence.
